“For my part, I am almost contented just now, and very thankful. Gratitude is a divine emotion: it fills the heart, but not to bursting; it warms it, but not to fever.”Charlotte Brontë
This is the month of being thankful and although this has been a trying year with everything that has been going on around us, it is still important to remember that being thankful for the small things. It costs us nothing but a moment of our time. I forget sometimes the feeling that being thanked gives you. It always feels better when you do something and they don’t ask for it. So, for my parents, it’s making them that cup of tea or coffee without asking them or them having to ask me. It’s that warmth and that surprised smile that they give, it’s become a lot more important during this time. This is because we are constantly around one another making it feel like you’re on top of one another. So, those small things make you more appreciative.
Because let’s be honest sometimes you’re just not in the mood for them, but doing those small things can show them just how much you really do for them and make them that much more grateful for you being home.
