If you’ve been following us for some time now, you’d know this series and I thought it was high time to add to it! (links at the bottom) Yes, I was away…again…during uni time…I know it’s becoming a problem now. I can’t believe I haven’t been kicked out already due to low attendance…This time around I decided to travel to and visit our friends in the east, well granted it was my first time going so I didn’t really have friends yet but I have tons now!
I went to what was named ‘the world’s most expensive city to live’ any ideas…

Fine, I’ll tell you: SINGAPORE! TBH I really didn’t know much about it when I decided to go the majority of last year and the beginning of this year there, I did tons of research but in all truth, nothing could have prepared me for my adventure there. I had only a few months to prepare which for me, wasn’t enough time but boy was it fun planning everything!
Ally: 🤦🏽♀️ Guurrlll!!! We both know you weren’t there for a holiday! Cause if you were, we need to talk about what your idea of a holiday is! I wouldn’t call “Placement Year” a holiday…. especially when it is a study abroad programme! 😂 If anyone was holidaying this academic year it was me!! 😂😂😂
Uggggh fine, Ally couldn’t even allow me to have a little fun with you guys. (eyes up emoji) If you must know, I wasn’t in Singapore on holiday, I was there because I was on
PLACEMENT
Yes, that’s right folks, I did my placement year at Singapore Management University as part of my Study Abroad programme and it’s probably one of the best decisions of my life so far!

- The HEAT was almost too hot to handle when I arrived in August (missing 2 weeks of classes already (wink))! I Survived!
- The workload was insane, but I got a handle on it after my first term.
- Most of the stereotypes I had (don’t judge) were very true, I can say this with confidence as I experienced them first hand. #asianstudents
- FOOD WAS AMAZING AND NO ONE CAN TELL ME OTHERWISE!
